Pioneer Farm Tour

An hour and a half tour of Pioneer Farm.
Your tour includes visiting a homestead cabin built in the
1880's and learning about the families who built and lived in it.
Doing the chores that pioneer children did in the activity
cabin such as grinding grains, churning butter, scrubbing
laundry, and carding wool. You may dress up as pioneers, get
your hair curled with a curling iron, and shave with a dulled
straight razor.
Doing barn chores including gathering eggs, milking, and
visiting all the animals. You may even try a jump into the hay pile.
Doing some work in the blacksmith shop like using the forge,
pounding or bending a horse shoe.
Doing some work in the wood shop includes pounding nails,
using a bit and brace to drill, spudding bark, sawing wood,
and using the draw knife.
You will visit a replica one room school and your guide will
tell you about the rules and punishments for students and teachers.
It is an unforgettable "Hands On" experience.
